The only thing I didn’t like about this waistcoat was the price – it’s about what I would expect to pay for something with a couple of sleeves sewn on as well!
Barbour Highmoor Wax Gilet
That aside, it is exceptionally comfortable to wear, great to shoot in and true to its size chart, unlike a number of other leading brands out there that should know better.
I’ve owned enough Barbour waxproofs in the past to know that this lined waistcoat is going to withstand some heavy use and abuse before giving up the ghost and, in true Barbour fashion, it will look better and better the more it’s worn and weathered.
I particularly like the design of the generously sized cartridge pockets – not only do they spread the weight of ammo evenly across both shoulders they also let you get cartridges out easily for fast reloading.
It’s a waistcoat that looks good both in the field or on the clay range.
