Barbour Berwick Tweed shooting vest is an excellent fit for me (size L) and is the epitome of high-quality simplicty.
It's lightweight, despite the tweed and Barbour jacquard lining, and feels very comfortable to wear - being in no way obtrusive throughout the day (although I sometimes find it slightly too warm on occasion).
The two front pockets handle a box of cartridges easily, and the pockets are well designed - allowing quick and rapid access for your hand - much needed when shooting a flush or drive.
Like the other garments in the Berwick range it looks like traditional tweed but the innovative coating allows it to be washed, if needed.
The shoulder patches seemed to be very effective at, not so much reducing recoil, but in allowing for a comfortable shoot.
There has certainly been no soreness the next day and the patches allow for quick and easy gunmounts, without too much - or too little, grip on the stock.
There's great freedom of movement throughout the shoulders and the cut of this vest seems to make it hang very well from the body.
All in all, if you are looking for a luxury shooting vest, at the higher end of the scale - then you will not go wrong with this.
