Pigeon shooting: Is it necessary to buy different colours of camo netting to suit seasonal changes to background vegetation? Can I get away with just one?
PIGEON SHOOTING
Peter Theobald
I’m not entirely sure pigeons are canny enough to notice that your hide may not blend perfectly with local background, provided they cannot see you sitting inside it.
That’s because hedgerows, after all, contain bushes and shrubs of varying colours, particularly in the spring when they are flowering.
Having said that, it can do no harm to try to make your pigeon shooting hide as unobtrusive as possible, thus removing any niggling doubts that it may be scaring birds.
Most folk tend towards lighter shades of net because they appear to be less noticeable than darker ones.
