While I am disappointed by the way she’s turning out physically, she’s a lovely little character in every other respect.
Amazingly, some gundogs get away with this type of conformational health defect and are able to work tirelessly for years.
Others are not so lucky and quickly develop arthritis in the carpus (wrist) and also often in the elbow.
Many affected individuals have concomitant elbow dysplasia and are more prone to elbow fractures and degenerative joint disease.
How was your pup’s mum? If she is similarly affected but working well then there may be a decent outlook.
If your pup, however, is the first in her line to be affected then a veterinary opinion is really worthwhile.
It may be that your nutrition is wrong or that she has an orthopaedic problem that can be sorted.
