As a result of this relatively minor accident, it has been suggested that we should carry some form of first aid support. What would you advise?

Shooting first aid

DR. MATTHEW RICKS

When shooting, one can often find oneself in isolated fields where access is difficult, so carrying a first aid kit is definitely advised.

Kits can be bought in most pharmacies.

But what is essential is that someone in a shooting party has undertaken training in basic first aid and life support in case of a medical emergency.

Use the Internet or contact St John Ambulance service to find a local course.
