Pigeon shooting

PETER THEOBALD

My Perazzi is the old model MT6, discontinued soon after I bought it new in 1980.

It was one of the first multi-choked guns to enter the country, important for me, as I intended to use it for everything, including trap shooting, wildfowling, skeet, and of course, pigeon shooting.

It is actually a trap gun, but I have fitted it with a skeet stock, and over the years, have experimented with various choke combinations.

At the moment, I am using the No.2 (just under ¼ choke) in the bottom barrel, and No. 3 (just over 1/4) in the top.

I get very clean kills right out to 50 yds with this combination using 1.1/8oz sixes.
