Pigeon shooting expert

PETER THEOBALD

I have used these pigeon shooting hides to decoy geese on the stubble fields of Scotland, and they can certainly be effective.

However, I am not sure pigeons are clever enough to recognise the danger of any type of hide, be it a net hide a natural one, or indeed, one in the shape of a round bale.

The important purpose of any hide, is purely to conceal the person inside, because that is what the pigeon associates with danger.

Provided it performs that task effectively, then there should not be any need to ‘hide the hide’, so to speak.
