In aid of THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
‘Hot shots’ and novices alike are invited to the Friends of Chelsea & Westminster Hospital fifth charity Clay Pigeon Shoot.
Sir Edward Dashwood will welcome participants to the E J Churchill Shooting School, part of the West Wycombe Dashwood Estate near High Wycombe on Thursday 7th October 2010.
The Friends of Chelsea & Westminster Hospital is a charity whose sole aim is to provide support and care to the patients of the hospital.
This is done in a variety of ways but principally by purchasing medical equipment where funding is not possible from other sources.
Money raised from this year’s shoot will buy vital equipment for the Emergency Department, which offers a full 24-hour service and is the busiest in West London, seeing more than 100,000 patients a year; one third of these are children who are seen in the separate children’s emergency care department.
A week or two weekends in a stunning house, sleeping 16, designed by top modern architect Paolo Piva in a spectacular position in the South of France is the star lot in the shoot auction.
Guest auctioneer Humphrey Butler will also bring his hammer down on a range of other exciting lots including fishings on the Exe and in Carmarthenshire donated by Lord Heseltine and Sir Edward Dashwood, a portrait or mural by Ada Dawnay, and a day’s shopping with a personal shopper in a chauffeur driven car.
A tombola also offers fabulous prizes.
This year’s event is kindly supported by the Kings Road Branch of Knight Frank.
Tickets for single or team (4 guns) entry are now on sale and cost £195 per gun from The Friends Office on 020 8746 8825 or via friends.office@chelseawest.nhs.uk
The day comprises shooting at eight (manned) stands and two flurries (1 x 4 man and 1 x 2 man) with all equipment including guns and cartridges (and tuition from Churchill’s experts for beginners), breakfast, a champagne reception and lunch followed by the auction and a closing prize ceremony, all in support of a very good cause.
