The South Eastern Gundog Society held their recent novice and open working/water tests at Popes Oak Farm, West Grinstead, West Sussex at the kind invitation of Sheila Chessell.
There was a large entry of 55 runners, 31 novice and 24 open, to be judged by Glynis Hillier, Graham Stanley, Roger Wade, Rene Neeves, Paul Jennings and Sue Berman.
The six tests made full use of the excellent variety of ground and water available.
The weather was warm and sunny and despite the number of entries the day ran smoothly. Both the open and novice competitions were very competitive with only five points separating the top four dogs.
In the open there was a run-off for third and fourth place while in the novice a run-off was required for first and second.
