Potential future stars of the Gundog world were out in full force as the Kennel Club held its Novice Retriever Field Trial at the Nevill Holt Hall estate in Leicestershire.

Potential future stars of the Gundog world were out in full force as the Kennel Club held its Novice Retriever Field Trial at the Nevill Holt Hall estate in Leicestershire.

The trial, held on the estate by kind permission of David Ross, saw working dogs put through their paces, as judges Ian Openshaw, Kieran Smith, Andy Latham and Lee Hartis decided on the following winners:

1st – Labrador Retriever, Leacaz Lapwing of Lincswolds, owned and handled by Richard King

2nd – Labrador Retriever, Stauntonvale Fastnet, owned by Mr D Hill and handled by Laura Hill

3rd – Labrador Retriever, Lord Warden’s Boy, owned and handled by Jon Bailey. Also the Guns’ Choice.

4th – Labrador Retriever, Callowhill Blackthorn, owned and handled by Mr A J Griffiths

A Certificate of Merit was awarded to Labrador Retriever, Quarnford Grouse of Rufriver, owned and handled by Allie Hogsbjerg.
