United Retriever Club North Midland Area gun dog test

The North Midland Area competitors at the end of what was a very rainy afternoon.

The North Midland Area of the United Retriever Club held an open working gun dog test for a.v. retriever at Rother Valley Country Park, by kind permission of the Rangers.

There were 42 entries to be judged by Arthur Hewer, Godfrey Lowe, Sue Lowe and Elaine Whittaker.

The weather was cool and cloudy with persistent rain in the afternoon. The morning retrieves included a double mark on the lake, a mark and a blind from plantations, and a blind across the lake.

In the afternoon there was a walk-up in rough grass with marks front and rear, a blind along a valley, and a mark across the River Rother.

Prizes were generously sponsored by Alpha.
