The Usk Valley Working Gundog Club held a novice retriever trial at Kerrin Farm, Woolaston by permission of Mr A. Curtis.

The judges were Judy Rainey, David Stephens, Kate Smith and Frank Wright.

Scenting was poor and, unfortunately, some of the dogs that showed early promise were lost due to poor heelwork.
