The United Retriever Club’s North Midland Area held a very successful event at the Hope Valley Show in Derbyshire, recently.
During the day the Inter-Breed Team Test was held and this has become a regular feature of the show, in its attractive setting of the Peak District. This year six teams competed, with two Novice dogs and two Open dogs in each team. A very close competition attracted a good crowd throughout the day, the spectators appreciating the chance to see the different working styles of the various breeds. The fortunes of the teams fluctuated on a variety of marked and blind retrieves, but the yellow Labrador team emerged as worthy winners.
Shaun Eadson, Sharon Eadson, Don Wilson and Charlotte Smith were presented with the Esmoro Trophy and prizes donated by Alpha.
The judges were Steve and Anne Crookes from Sheffield. The commentary by Phil Wagland and Janet Allsop provided information about the handlers and their dogs, and relayed the scores for the interest of the crowd. The event was sponsored by ?Alpha ? The Food of Champions? and Mrs Jennie Ball, who presented the prizes.
