The Kennel Club launches an online system to enable owners to transfer the ownership of a puppy into their own name

The Kennel Club is launching an online system this summer that will revolutionise the puppy registration system and enable puppy owners to transfer officially the ownership of a puppy into their own name via the Internet.

Once the transfer application has been processed, puppy owners will be entitled to all the usual Kennel Club services, including six weeks’ free insurance.

The launch of the Online Ownership Transfer Scheme follows the successful launch of the Online Litter Registration system in 2006, which has already led to 20 per cent of all puppies registered with the Kennel Club each month being done on the Internet. Accredited breeders, who agree to abide by certain guidelines to ensure the health and welfare of the puppy and its parents, have been able to register their litters online since last summer.
