Updated General Licences are now in effect across UK

The licences authorise the control of certain pest species.

The revised General Licences for England came into affect on 1st January.

Natural England has added parakeets and removed herring gulls and greater blackbacked gulls.

The licences authorise the control of certain pest species under section 16 of the 1981 Wildlife and Countryside Act and are reviewed periodically.
