The course will be held at Winfrith Technology Centre, near Dorchester, and is aimed at responsible shotgun licence holders – and also those considering applying for a shotgun licence.

Dorset Police announce 2010 shotgun safety course.
It aims to increase the awareness and confidence of shotgun licence holders in terms of certificate procedures, gun and shooting safety tips, carriage of a gun and the legislation in place for licence holders.

Looking back on previously run events, Danny Bothwick, one of the trainers, said: "I am impressed and delighted with the cross section of society and ages, of those who attend the courses, together with their enthusiasm and willingness to participate in all the practical aspects that the course offers."

The course lasts for 4 hours and covers a whole range of safety advice and information and costs £25.
