Graham Brown of the Purbeck Shooting School in Dorset, has been honoured by the international sporting federation FITASC.

Presented for excellence in course design and event management, the prestigious Diplomè International no.6 is the federation’s highest certificate of individual achievement - and just one of only three existing awards currently held in the discipline of international sporting.

At the presentation of the award for the recent European FITASC Sporting Championships in Portugal, technical director, Jean Wenger said: “Graham is highly skilled at setting targets and has many years experience of managing events of this kind at home and abroad.”

“He’s a true professional and rightly deserves the federation’s highest honour for his dedication and commitment to clay target shooting, instruction and course management.”

The 45th European championship, hosted at the Vale das Predas Shooting Club last month, used eight target lines with 32 new competitor stands and 120 new Pro-Matic trap machines.

For his part, Graham was responsible for the presentation of 200 targets for the 4-day competition - a challenge recognised for its complexity and diversity by FITASC.

Senior Instructor and managing director of the Purbeck Shooting School for the past 17 years, Graham has devoted a lifetime to the sport of clay target and game shooting, and is now rightly acknowledged for his achievement by the sport’s leading international authority.

Qualified and affiliated to the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association, Purbeck Shooting School is a previous winner of the celebrated title ‘Shooting Ground of the Year’ and regularly hosts shooting events, charity fundraising events and competitions throughout the year.
