A sale of Fine Modern & Vintage Sporting Guns will take place at the Gleneagles Hotel, Scotland, on Monday 20th August 2012 at 6pm.
Gavin Gardiner Ltd, in association with Sotheby’s, have now released the catalogue and list of lots online.
Copies of the printed catalogue are available for £17 including postage.
As ever they have a wide and varied selection of guns, rifles and shooting accessories in the sale, making a total of 240 lots.
J. Woodward & Sons 12-bore sidelock ejector over-under shotgun
Made in 1922 the gun features 28-inch Whitworth steel barrels with 2.1/2 inch chambers, about 3/8 choke borings, file cut rib.
The frame, locks and gold numbered top lever feature fine bouquet and scroll engraving – retaining traces of original hardening colour, the maker’s name signed in gold.

Luciano Bosis fine pair of 12-bore Pedratti-engraved single trigger over-under shotguns, Nos. 397 & 397b, with Extra High Bird barrels.
The guns feature 29 inch barrels with 2.3/4 inch chambers and interchangeable screw-in choke tubes, file cut narrow solid ribs.
The additional 31-inch barrels with 2.3/4 inch chambers have full-choke boring, narrow file cut solid ribs numbered 3 & 4 in gold.
The makers name is signed in gold.
14.1/4 inch highly figured stocks with pistol grips and rubber recoil pads, the combs slightly swept for the right shoulder.
Weight 7lb 12oz (29 inch barrels). Italian Nitro proof. Complete in their maker’s leather trunk case.

David McKay Brown pair of 12-bore round action ejector guns Nos. 7445/7446.
Made in 1989 and engraved by Geoff Moore, they feature 27 inch chopper lump barrels with 2.1/2 inch chambers.
About improved cylinder and ¼ choke borings.
Top extensions, the rounded frames and gold numbered top levers with foliate scroll engraving against a lined ground, retaining much of their original hardening colour, the maker’s name signed within a scrolling banner.
14.1/4 inch highly figured stocks, cast on for the left shoulder

Complete in their maker’s double motor case.
