The award-winning Savage Axis rifle has been unveiled as the official rifle of the British Deer Society (BDS).
Distributed by Cheshire-based wholesaler Edgar Brothers, the quality and tremendous value of the American-made rifle was deemed ideal for BDS members, especially those having just completed their DSC 1.
The BDS will now be exclusively using Savage Axis rifles on all firearms and deer stalking training courses.
The BDS’ Dave Goffin said: “We are delighted to announce the Savage Axis as the official rifle of the BDS. With its reliable action, crisp trigger and inherent accuracy, the BDS considers the Savage Axis a superb rifle for deer stalking and all training aspects with which the society is involved.”
Edgar Brothers’ Derek Edgar said he was proud the Savage Axis has received support from such a highly respected organisation: “Having the BDS endorse the Savage Axis is a significant milestone in the gun’s history. The Savage Axis is everything a rifle shooter needs from a gun; short and long action calibres from .223 Rem to .30-06 Springfield, a detachable magazine, blued or stainless finish and left hand options available.”
