Royal Mail’s plans to ban the carriage of guns and components would lead to the closure of rural businesses, says the Scottish Gamekeepers Association.

Royal Mail’s plans of a gun ban, to ban the carriage of guns and components, would lead to the closure of rural businesses, says the Scottish Gamekeepers Association.

Chairman Alex Hogg believes the move would lead directly to rural job losses, as gunsmiths would no longer be able to post spares to customers in remote areas.

He said: “This is another nail in the coffin for honest people trying to do their jobs in the countryside.”
