A black Labrador has had to be put down after it was mauled by a seal in the North Sea, near Newburgh in Aberdeenshire.
A black Labrador has had to be put down after it was mauled by a seal in the North Sea, near Newburgh in Aberdeenshire.
The three-year-old dog, named Fly, was retrieving a duck shot by owner Matthew Will.
“I’m still trying to come to terms with it all,” said Mr Will.
“Now I just want to warn other dog owners of the danger so that they won’t have to face the same anguish and horror that I have.”
Locals said that signs reading “Beware: seals may attack dogs in water” had recently been vandalised and removed.
