British Open Side-by-Side Championship to be held at the Atkin Grant & Lang Shooting Ground

The British Open Side-by-Side Championship is designed for shooters of traditional Side-by-Side shotguns with the layout and sequences that will test the guns as well as allowing them to enjoy the day.

Entrants will be asked to shoot a 120 bird round which includes two sequences of 20 birds that will be shot on grouse and rabbits.

Guns used on the day can be either British or foreign in all classes.

There are classes and prizes for 12-bore, Small-bore, Hammer, Lady High Gun and Young Shot with a £300 cash prize for the Highest Score.

Shooting will start at 10am with prize giving at 3pm.

All entrants will be provided with bacon rolls on arrival and a light lunch.

The cost of entry is £50 with re-entry at £39.

Charlie Steward-Wood, Shooting Ground Director said: “We have been looking forward to the Side-by-Side Championships for several months now as we believe that it will a fun day but with some testing targets, especially our new Coverhead Grouse Sequence, which is shot as part of the 120 Sporting birds that guns will be required to shoot”.

Atkin Grant & Lang is based 5 minutes from J9 of the M1 near Markyate, Hertfordshire.
