Gosport and Fareham Sporting Clay Club, in Hampshire, recently won a court battle against Gosport Borough Council after it tried to stop the club holding shoots in the Alver Valley. The club has held clay pigeon shoots on the land for decades, but it was not until 2007 that the council said that shot falling into the surrounding areas was damaging the environment. The club’s Frank Yung said: “We are over the moon that justice has prevailed. The council did not have any grounds to stop us.”
