Gamebird Code in force
DEFRA?s Code of Practice for the Welfare of Gamebirds Reared for Sporting Purposes came into force last week. The code includes recommendations on providing food and water, disease prevention and the use of equipment. Though the report contains no actual offences, DEFRA stated that it could be used in court as evidence to support a case of poor welfare. For a copy of the code, visit www.bit.ly/hdh9xD.
