This comes after the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced that no charges will be brought over the alleged shooting.
On 24 October, a nature warden claimed that they saw a pair of hen harriers shot at Dersingham Bog, near Sandringham.
Despite a major police search, the CPS confirmed last week that no hen harrier bodies, forensic or ballistic evidence had been found. A CPS spokesman said: “Norfolk Crown Prosecution Service has advised Norfolk police that there is insufficient evidence to prosecute anyone over the shooting of two hen harrier birds, a protected species, at Sandringham.”
A spokesperson for the NGO said: “The person who thought he saw this happen was a Natural England (NE) employee. Somebody then went straight to the press and the story exploded from there.”
