The home of Shooting Times and Sporting Gun

Norfolk’s Congham Hall opens up to shooting parties

The elegant Georgian mansion, set in 30 acres of parkland on the edge of the Sandringham Estate, provides the perfect rural retreat after a long day in the field.

Guests can relax in one of 26 bedrooms ? including 11 new garden rooms with private terraces ? all of which have en-suite bathrooms, some with monsoon showers.

And Congham Hall?s state-of-the-art spa is just the place to reinvigorate weary limbs, with four treatment rooms, a 12-metre swimming pool, thermal suite with steam and bio sauna, and outdoor hot tub.

While the hotel?s sitting rooms, with their open log fires, provide cosy spaces for friends to come together.

Congham Hall?s Restaurant holds 2 AA rosettes and features a private dining room that seats up to 20 people.

Menus showcase local produce as well as vegetables and herbs from the hotel?s gardens, complemented by an excellent wine cellar.

Guests can time their visit to coincide with the annual Sandringham Game & Country Fair, which takes place on the nearby Sandringham Estate from 8-9 September.

Local attractions include Sandringham House and Holkham Hall, the gardens at Houghton and Oxburgh Halls, and Snettisham Park, a working farm that offers activities such as deer safaris.

Rooms cost from £135 per night, including breakfast.

Family rooms and rooms that accommodate dogs are available.
