Georgina Geikie, Britain?s leading female pistol Shot, has spoken of her pride at carrying the Olympic torch through her hometown of Okehampton, Devon. Geikie, who is hoping to compete in the 25m pistol event at this summer?s Games, was nominated for her ?commitment and dedication? to the sport, as well as for inspirational coaching in her local community. She described her stint with the torch as an ?amazing experience?. She tweeted: It was a TOTAL honour to represent not only my family and friends, but Okehampton, Devon and the sport of shooting!

Rifle shooters, Matt Thomson, James Huckle and Neil Stirton, are celebrating after winning silver medals in the men?s prone team event at the International Shooting Competitions of Hanover (ISCH), in Germany. Twenty-six-year-old Thomson, from Edinburgh, also won bronze in the individual prone event. The three men, plus Ken Parr, are vying for one place available to male British rifle shooters at the London Olympics.
