Paralympics: Shotgun shooting agreement

A deal has been struck which brings the possibility of shotgun events being scheduled at future Paralympic Games a step closer.

The agreement, signed last week by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), means that test events can now be staged in order to develop shotgun events for disabled shooters.

ISSF secretary general Franz Schreiber said: ?Our Federation supports the idea of launching a project to develop shooting events for disabled athletes.

?The ISSF and the IPC have been collaborating for years in the field of rifle and pistol competitions, and we are now willing to extend our agreements to shotgun shooting events.?
