Scottish Gamekeepers’ Day at Scone Palace

Over 100 gamekeepers across Scotland will gather for the Scottish Gamekeepers' Day at Scone Palace on March 18.

The Scottish Gamekeepers Day’, organised by BASC, provides gamekeepers across Scotland with a forum for debating important issues such as game bird disease management, and allows gamekeepers to stay abreast of changes in the law.

A clay shooting competition will also be included in the day’s events.

BASC Scotland director Colin Shedden said: “Gamekeepers are essential for a well-managed and wildlife-rich Scotland. They should be rightly proud of the role they play in our countryside. This event gives us the opportunity to talk to gamekeepers, pass on essential working information and thank them for the work they have done for shooting throughout the year.”

Mike Holliday, chairman of BASC Scotland’s gamekeeping and wildlife management working group, said: “This is a unique event and a rare opportunity for gamekeepers to come together to meet with fellow keepers to discuss the past season and issues that are affecting our work.”

The Scottish Gamekeepers’ Day is free and for BASC gamekeeper members only. Spaces are limited. To book your place contact BASC Scotland on tel. 01350 723226.
