Dr James Logan, of Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies, will head up Tick Bite Prevention Week, which takes place from 24 to 30 March.

Dr Logan, an internationally renowned entomologist, has made a podcast on how to tackle ticks.

According to the Health Protection Agency, around 3,000 people contract Lyme disease, which is passed on by ticks, every year in the UK.

As part of Tick Bite Prevention Week, landowners and park authorities will be called upon to adopt strategies to cut the number of disease cases. This may include providing guidance for visitors so that they can take precautions against tick bites.
