The first person to be charged with badger cull disruption has been named as 37-year-old Cathy Scott from Pepys Corner in Tile Hill, Coventry.

Scott is accused of running into a field shouting and waving a torch despite a High Court injunction being banning the use of torches, LED lights and camera flashes near the badger cull zone. The injunction, taken out by the National Farmers Union, also prevented anyone from protesting within 100 metres of local homes.

Scott has been bailed until a plea and case management hearing in March next year.
