If I shoot a roe deer on my own ground and it runs on to someone else's land, am I allowed to go and retrieve it?
Stalking
GEORGE WALLACE says: Not without permission. Even if you feel morally bound to do so because the creature is pricked. Neither may you send your dog.
To go on to someone else's land without permission is trespass and if you carry a rifle or gun it becomes armed trespass.
Don't go there!
With deer it's slightly different in that you may go on to the neighbour's land without permission if you have good reason to believe that permission would have been given had he known of the circumstances. And if you think that's confusing, don't blame me - I didn't write this rubbish, I'm just repeating it because that's what the Law says.
