I am getting interested in running boar shooting. Can I use my usual stalking rifle and ammunition, or do I need something different for boar shooting?

In principle the rifle you use for stalking should be suitable for running deer but not for running boar shooting.
There may be particular requirements as to calibre if you shoot running deer competitively.
You’ll have to use solid rather than expanding ammunition because the latter is usually only conditioned for sporting use and zeroing, but not target shooting.
Running boar has similar targets but a .22 rimfire is used, rather than a centre fire.
