Sawyer water filter.
The new device is the lightest and most versatile system on the market and unlike many other filters will last for decades. The makers say it has a life expectancy of 1 million gallons guaranteed.
The Sawyer filter uses hollow fibre membrane technology, which will filter 0.1 or 0.02 micron filtration to ensure no bacteria or virus can get through.
The lightweight water treatment system SP131 includes a water filter, three different sized sturdy folding bags and a cleaning device. It weighs 85 grams and can fit into a pocket quite easily.
The system is also specially designed so it can be screwed onto most water bottles if the bags aren’t to hand.
Although expensive at £60 you get a filter able to last a lifetime without the need for replacement cartridges.
This product includes 3 pouches (0.5L, 1L and 2L) that can be reused hundreds of times.
How you use it:
Fill up the pouch of your choice at a lake, stream or river, screw the filter directly onto the pouch and:
1). Squeeze the bag and filter water into your water bottle or container of choice.
2). Drink directly from the filter which has a built in push pull cap for on/off functions.
3). Attach the filter onto most threaded water bottles including 2 litre bottles.
