My gun still fits and I’ve tried other makes but the result’s still the same. What’s causing the problem?

Clay shooting

JOHN BIDWELL

Seems to me you’re suffering from an affliction that affects us all and from which there’s no escape – growing old!

Age in itself doesn’t mean we can’t remain competitive where clays are concerned but one ageing process, which can have a major impact, is weakening, or changing, eyesight.

In short, when was the last time you had a sight test?

It could be your eye dominance has changed to the point where your other eye is taking over, or equally possible, you have developed a condition called central vision whereby both eyes are starting to share the workload.

If this is the case there are a number of things you can do, from dimming your eye to putting more cast on the gun.

First, though, go and have them tested!
