Are static decoys good when pigeon shooting patchy rape?

Are static decoys any use in these situations?

PIGEON SHOOTING
Peter Theobald
A lot depends on how big the area of backward growth is. In most normal years, it is usually only the headlands or patches near ‘sitty trees’ that are badly hit, in which case you could easily get away with static decoys alone.

This year, however, whole fields have been hammered, so you will need to employ every trick in the book to pull them where you want them.

This will involve using whirlies and flappers to ensure incoming woodies spot your layout.

Expect pigeons to hit these areas right up until the middle of May.
