I’ve come across this a few times in the past after rabbit shooting, and one dealer told me it’s because part of the guts go off to be used in some pharmaceuticals for women.

I don’t know whether that’s true or not, but what I have noticed is that the ‘leave the guts in them’ requirement normally crops up around October.

That’s because the rabbits, I believe, were destined for the European markets so I can only think they like them like that over there!

All I can say is the rabbits must be fluorescent green by the time they’re finally skinned.

Strange things women and Johnny foreigners…

With regard to the rabbits being left with the “guts” in, i believe its so there is no freezer burns on the flesh when they are packed and frozen for export to the european market.
