Deer stalking legal advice

GEORGE WALLACE

In the normal course of events you would be trespassing in pursuit of a wounded bird or animal but with deer it?s slightly different in that you can go on a neighbour?s land without permission if you have good reason to believe it would have been given had your neighbour known of the circumstances.

To avoid any doubt it?s invariably best to talk to your neighbours when you take on any stalking and seek their permission to follow a wounded deer on their land should the need ever arise.

Similarly, the same courtesy should be extended to them if a wounded deer comes over from their side.
