GWCT launches new grouse service for moor

To help grouse moor owners and keepers to maximise the return on their considerable investment of time and money, the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) launched a new research-led initiative at The CLA Game Fair — Grouse Technical Services (GTS).

GTS aims to help grouse production in the long term by offering those involved in grouse moor management unparalleled access to all the GWCT’s latest scientific developments.

Run by the GWCT’s specialist advisors and supported by its upland research staff, GTS offers a series of grouse moor management options suited to the individual circumstances affecting each moor. The service offers customised packages that should ensure the long-term productivity of individual grouse moors and contribute to their considerable conservation benefits. The service ranges from grouse counting and shoot planning to worm counts and blood sampling for disease.
