PIGEON SHOOTING
Peter Theobald
If the wood being used is a small one, it is possible to locate the pigeon flightline and set an ordinary pattern on the ground within sight of it for your shooting

It does not matter what crop this may be on, the pigeons know the food they are seeking is acorns, and not the crop itself.

If the wood is a large one, your best chance of success is to use lofted decoys by putting them as far up a prominent tree as you can get.

This can be a fiddly business, but a worthwhile one, particularly if you have found the most popular area of the wood.
