There?s no doubt some people do struggle to switch from one to another and it takes them time to adjust to something different.
Trying to shoot a jinking woodpigeon over decoys or at roost is a heck of a lot different to shooting a clay that flies level and takes a known flight path!
I think the trouble actually lies in doing too much of one kind of shooting to the detriment of the others.
By my reckoning, if you shoot woodies and clays throughout spring and summer in fairly equal measure then you will make a seamless change to game when the time comes.
