I am 17 years old, getting really hooked on stalking and would like to make it my career with an employer such as the Forestry Commission.
What sort of qualifications will I need to get a job ? I can?t find any information on the subject. Maybe I am looking in the wrong places?
DEER STALKING
George Wallace
Several agricultural colleges offer courses in countryside management with sections devoted to the training of future gamekeepers and deer managers.
I am reluctant to mention any particular one for fear of offending all the others, but a trawl on the internet should find one reasonably close to your home, or one whose presentation strikes a chord with you.
You could also try the website of the National Gamekeepers? Organisation www.nationalgamekeepers.org.uk and ask if anyone is looking for a likely lad as a trainee.
Looking after deer can be a wonderful, fascinating and rewarding job among some of the country?s most beautiful animals, so I wish you the very best of luck in your search.
