Seasoned shots and novices alike are invited to test their skills at the inaugural Scottish Countryside Alliance team clay shoot and lunch on the Hopetoun Estate in South Queensferry on 19 July.
The topography of the Hopetoun Estate is ideally suited to game shooting and resident shooting instructor Stewart Cumming, who is currently ranked number one International Federation for Sporting Shooting (FITASC) shooter in Scotland, has created five simulated games drives for the competition – high pheasant, pigeon, teal, partridge and walked-up.
Teams of 4 will compete for the Scottish Countryside Alliance Cup.
Scottish Countryside Alliance director Jamie Stewart said: “We are delighted to be working with Lord Hopetoun and his team to provide an event that will build year on year to become one of the annual social highlights. The monies raised through the event will be used to fund research projects, carry out our important work within Holyrood and in support of the wider countryside community.”
The day will start with a bacon roll and coffee from 9.30am and will end with a BBQ lunch and wine from 1.30 pm, with much of the food sourced through the award-winning Hopetoun Farm Shop. Refreshments will also be available before lunch.
It costs £600 to enter a team of four or £150 per single shot. If you cannot make up a team but wish to shoot we can team you up with other single guns. Those aged 17 and under pay £80.
