I once knew someone who hand painted an old van in camo colours, and simply drove it to where he wanted to shoot, opened the back doors, and erected his hide so that he was sitting in the back of the van.
It?s not something I would be brave enough to try, but he swore it worked!
As I maintain, there is no rational reason why pigeons would fear inanimate objects, particularly now more of them are becoming urbanised, so, provided the birds cannot see you on your contraption, I see no reason why it shouldn?t do the trick.
To prove my point, we have several woodies visiting our garden bird tables, and one of their favourite vantage points is on the head of a life sized concrete figure!
