Will real pigeon wings enhance plastic decoys?

Do they, as some people say, reduce shine and therefore become less likely to scare incoming pigeons?

Being basically lazy, I haven?t employed this trick for many years ? particularly since flock coated decoys arrived on the scene.

However there?s no doubt that sticking real wings to old style plastic decoys really does give them a new lease of life.

You do have to be a bit more careful when handling modified decoys, as they soon get tatty if allowed to get wet.

Rather than glue the wings on with Copydex, why not use a couple of elastic bands to hold them in place?

This way you can change wings quickly when the feathers start to look moth eaten or tired.
