BASC has named the Marquess of Hamilton as its new president, highlighting his commitment to sustainable shooting. Eoghan Cameron was re-elected chairman, with new council members also announced.
The Marquess of Hamilton was named as BASC’s new president at its annual general meeting last month.
Elected to the role on 22 May, the Marquess of Hamilton brings extensive experience in responsible land use and deer management, and operates an award-winning wild food business. Moreover, the running of his Baronscourt Estate in Northern Ireland demonstrates his long-standing commitment to sustainable shooting and conservation.
Alongside the presidential transition, Eoghan Cameron was re-elected as BASC chairman, which is a mark of his outstanding contribution and leadership provided to the association since he was first elected in 2017.
During the AGM Lydia Castellano was elected to a national seat on BASC Council, with Dr Al Gabriel re-elected to the remaining national seat for a second term. Alan Morrow was elected to the Northern Ireland seat (uncontested).
Eoghan Cameron said: “Lydia and Alan join Council at a crucial moment for shooting and conservation. Alongside Al Gabriel, who I am delighted to see re-elected to Council for a second term, their skills, knowledge and commitment to the values of BASC will be key as we continue to defend and promote sustainable shooting for future generations.”
