Natural England (NE) has announced a £5.5million boost for England’s threatened biodiversity.
Sharks, butterflies, toads, wetlands and woodlands are among the species and habitats due to benefit from the funding.
On 6 October, the government body unveiled its funding for key conservation projects run by organisations such as the National Trust and the Herpetological Conservation Trust.
Natural Englands Sir Martin Doherty said: We want to improve the fortunes of some of our most precious species and habitats.
