Do we need to hold any licences/certificates to allow us to store and cook game, both in and out of season?

David Frost
It used to be the case you could only sell game during the season and for a short while afterwards but there are now no restrictions provided the game was lawfully shot in season.

Game licenses and game dealers licences are also now part of our sporting history.

Game is treated in the same way as any other meat and you do need to be certain of your source of supply.

The topic is a bit too complicated to cover in detail here but you can read all about it at www.food.gov.uk
