Do you ever shoot pigeon that have landed in the pattern?

Pigeon shooting
PETER THEOBOLD
I personally do not shoot pigeons on the ground, preferring instead, to leave them as further decoys.

If, however it subsequently gets up, I have no compunction about plugging it.

Similarly, I will wait for another bird to approach, with the intention of killing the original bird with my second barrel.

With the arrival of rotary machines, pigeons seldom land in the pattern now so the dilemma does not arise as often as it used to.
