I get bad eyes when pigeon shooting

I've just bought some mesh curtain camo netting which is light, compact and a great colour. The only trouble is when I look through it I end up going cross-eyed and get bad eye strain. Do other people get this?

PETER BLATCH says: This type of netting is very effective, but as you say, can cause problems when looking through it. The trick is to adjust your hide so that you can watch for pigeons approaching by looking just over the top of the net, and only getting right out of sight as the birds get closer.

Sometimes, if your background is good, or you wear a facemask, and provided you keep still whilst pigeons commit to your pattern, you can look over the netting the whole time.

I always try to arrange things so I can see approaching birds as soon as possible, giving me plenty of time to get out of sight if need be.

I hate situations where birds are upon you before you have seen them coming. Invariably, they react quicker than you, and you spend a frustrating session forever ducking up and down.
